The Cup of Life
I remember a line from the Gol & Gincu movie, where there is this one scene, Fazura asked Rafidah why does she like futsal so much. And then Rafidah answered, the feel when scoring a goal that made her love futsal so much.
You are right girl, but not totally right. Scoring goals is not the only thing that made us love football. When we conceded a goal, or when we dribbled an opponent, or got dribbled, the fans reaction when there is a nice try. Or a nice team jersey, and my hate to Man Utd and Chelsea. That all sum up to our passion on football.
Passion. Yes that's the right word. For me, football is no longer a sport, its a passion. An art. A global language that spoken by everybody around the world. It is the same thing as maths, or Pablo Picasso's Boy with A Pipe, or Beethoven's 5th symphony.
Imagine if our national team manage to go to the World Cup final, my God I bet eveything in this country will stop moving. Everybody will be in front of the tv watching the game (except for dila who I remember she managed to watch other programs while everybody were watching the game though. It was the 2002 World Cup).
The World Cup 2006 is just around the corner. All I ever wanted is to watch a game there.
Behold, the greatest entertainment on earth, is about to begin.
Adios
